Finance
Finance has a multitude of responsibilities for which are handled on a daily basis. Accounts payable; the timely payment of creditors, employees and also student-related allowances, is one component of the department. The preparation of cash receipts and deposits is also handled. The Payroll department, a separate department within the Finance department, has the responsibility of processing payroll and maintaining personnel files.
Additional tasks such as cash management, financial analysis, long-term planning and budgeting are also carried out by the Finance department. As well, finance also has the responsibility of overseeing and managing financial transactions, internal controls and financial statement presentation. The Finance department, along with the Executive Director, report quarterly to the Board of Directors which is responsible in accordance with the vision of the Sioux Lookout District Chiefs.
