$133,000 | The project Construction is complete and NNEC celebrated the Garden Opening on September 10, 11 and 12, 2004. The Survivors, who were involved in the project, have identified two other phases: the dock, museum and additional landscaping. |

| Aboriginal Healing Foundation Wiichi’iwewin Wellness Services (2 year Pilot Project) |
$399,000 | NNEC established a student health unit. The WWS is directly accountable to the Executive Director and is separate from the other student support programs on the organizational chart, but all programs are expected to work together to ensure student health and safety comes first. The WWS consists of three staff at this time. Corinne Fox manages the program and has her Masters degree in Social Worker, Michelle Derosier also has Masters degree in Social Worker and Lydia Big George has her Social Worker diploma. A casual traditional healer position is to be filled.Corinne’s office is in Thunder Bay, but travels to meet the needs of the students. Michelle’s office is at Pelican Falls and Lydia works out of Thunder Bay DFCHS. |
NNEC and WWS must secure additional funds to assist the unit. Then Part of the WWS workplan is to compile information and statistics for First quarterly report is to be submitted on October 27, 2004. |
| Department of Justice | $48,858 | NNEC hosted a workshop in partnership with the 23 communities it serves. The workshop was successful, although community representation was poor. Due to inadequate representation funding was not completely expended. The Department has given NNEC approval to utilize the funds for student oriented projects. |

$27,500 | Youth Internship funds requested for the Technical Department systems administrator position. |
Approved. The internship ended in July and Jordan was retained by NNEC on a part time basis to accommodate his return to University. |

$42,910 | The Canadian Living Foundation has funded DFCHS’s nutrition program for the past four years and is currently reviewing our 2004/5 submission. |
