Welcome to the Holistic Student Services Program
The Holistic Student Services Program scope of work provides assistance and supprt to students attending Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School and Provincial High Schools in Thunder Bay, Sioux Lookout, Dryden and other urban centres in Ontario and the City of Winnipeg. The HSSP Prime workers are responsible for case management of students attending these schools.
The Norhern Nishnawbe Education Council (NNEC) through the Holistic Student Services Program is committed to providing students from the Sioux Lookout Area First Nations' communities with the assistance and support necessary to pursue educational goals and aspirations.
The Holisitic Student Services Program was set up on the direction of the Sioux Lookout Area Chiefs to:
- Provide social and Spiritual support
- Promote First Nations values, language and culture
- Improve highschool retention and graduation rates by encouraging academic achievement in partnership with Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School and the Provincial schools
- Reduce the problems encountered by students
- provide a safe, secure and understanding boarding home program
