Post Secondary Student Support Program
NNEC’s Post Secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP) provides financial, social and academic assistance to eligible students from 24 First Nations. NNEC sponsors and supports approved applicants accepted into accredited college and university programs.
Post Secondary Student Support Program
Eligibility
The following applicants are Priority #1 eligible for PSSSP funding:
· continuing successful PS students
· first time fundable Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) graduates
· first time fundable high school equivalency (GED) graduates
Priority #2 - #7 applicants are either wait-listed or declined support, pending available funds.
PSSSP Services
Approved applicants receive partial or entire financial aid for:
· books and tuition
· travel and accommodation
· residence fees
· course materials
· computer hardware/software
· on-site tutoring
Students receive the following NNEC support:
· social counselling
· academic counselling
· career counselling

Deadlines
Note the following important deadlines:
April 15th Sponsorship deadline for students accepted into May programs.
May 30th Sponsorship deadline for students accepted into July programs.
May 30th Sponsorship deadline for students accepted into September programs.
Nov 30th Sponsorship deadline for students accepted into January programs.
Student Rights and Responsibilities
All First Nations members are entitled to equitable rights as students of NNEC and are expected to perform as responsible adults.
Students sign a Charter of Student Rights and Responsibilities that outlines their education rights and responsibilities as adult students of NNEC. The binding contract serves as a guiding document to assess current and future funding and support of individual students.
